HOW WE STARTED
Four years ago,
we like the rest of the world grappled with regaining normalcy, as we all tried recovering from the COVID-19 crisis, we started a journey, actually an experiment, inviting friends and family to a feast in our living room. We named it at the time: THE SUYA EXPERIMENT. An experiment built around us sharing our love of Grilled Beef (natively named Suya to us ).
Soon after, we had to take the experiment to the backyard and later on; the front yard.
Overtime, we invited our former classmates and colleagues from work to this experiment, and in turn they invited their friends.
Today, we now officially call this experiment: The Suuyaaji Food Festival
A food festival where our aged culinary traditions meet new communities.Even as we continue to grow, our early traditions of experimenting with food and community still remain at our heart.
